This is yet another chapter of Fundamentals of Data, which is all about images.
Images describe better than words!
Let’s check it out with a picture study!!
Now, let us describe some of the attributes of a picture!!!
The image is of a beautiful painting on a surface with a rough texture, created many years ago. The painting is made up mostly of different shades of colors ranging from green, grey, blue, brown, red, off-white, and black, with a golden glow, with minimal fine lines.
The painting portrays a smiling young woman of ancient times, sitting on a chair, with hands crossed on the arm rest of a chair in a balcony facing a spectacular view of nature landscape which serves as a background of the painting. It seems that she was watching the nature before posing for the painting and was looking at the painter at the time she was being painted.
The background is a nature landscape which seems to be an imaginative place altogether that does not exist on the Earth. In the background, there is a snowy mountain range in blue, a river flowing into a lake in the middle with an old ruined bridge across, banked by pointed ridges. There is also a mountain range which have plain surface with no peaks. There is a deep lake too near this mountain range. There is also hilly lava type biome in red with a sandy road meandering in between the hills.
The woman has light brown eyes with a thin eyebrow and a reddish dark brown hair veiled with a fine black fabric, wearing an old-fashioned greyish green-brown-black colored attire. She looks at you with a face that illustrates a fantastic display of beauty and maturity alongside of mysterious and deep emotions, which cannot be described easily, vaguely like joy and sorrow, patience and perseverance, all at the same time.
The painter has taken enormous efforts for this art piece. He/she seems to be an expert at his work. The very painting says it all. The colors selected, the shades or lines painted, the finesse of the strokes, and the depth and completeness of the painting, displays the highest quality of his/her skill level.
Now, take a close look at this picture.
Yes, you are right!!!!
This picture represents Mona Lisa, the most popular portrait painted by the famous Leonardo Da Vinci, her husband.
Which was clearer?
The picture or the description?
I’m extremely sure that it is the picture itself!!!!!
We have proved practically that images are an effective means of communication compared to words or text. Pictures always say something more and/or different based on the intelligence and perspectives of different viewers. This paves the way for better methods of presenting concepts, ideas, or facts to the audience. Hence, images or pictures play a significant role in communication in general, and business communication in particular.
